IRFA: E15 now available at 142 stations across Iowa

By Iowa Renewable Fuels Association | November 09, 2017

In recent weeks E15 has arrived in several northern and eastern Iowa communities.

Iowa-based Casey’s General Store added E15 to a store in Burlington. This is the third Iowa Casey’s to add E15. The chain intends to add the fuel as an option to five more Iowa locations over the winter as part of a plan to add E15 to 17 stations across Iowa, Illinois, and Kansas.

Kwik Star, a retailer based out of Wisconsin, added E15 to stations in Cedar Rapids and Iowa Falls. Over the course of the next few years, Kwik Trip—which operates in Iowa under the name “Kwik Star”—intends to add E15 to almost all of its 550 locations in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa.

Four more fuel retailers in northern Iowa also added E15. The new locations include Dyno Oil in Spencer, L&M Gas&Go in New Albin, Dows Junction in Dows, and The Music Station in Cedar Falls.

“E15 is a tremendous value for Iowa drivers,” said Iowa Renewable Fuels Association Managing Director Lucy Norton. “The cleaner-burning fuel has an 88-octane rating and is typically priced five to 10 cents less than 87-octane E10. With all these benefits, it’s no surprise so many Iowa retailers are adding E15 as a fuel option.”

E15 is a fuel made of 15 percent ethanol and 85 percent petroleum and is approved for all 2001 and newer vehicles. The fuel is now available at 142 stations across the state. To find an E15 station near you, click here. All new stations include:
