DOE schedules meeting of biomass R&D advisory committee

The U.S. Department of Energy has announced it will hold an open meeting of the Biomass Research and Development Technical Advisory Committee on Aug. 22-23 in Arlington Virginia.

The meeting aims to develop advice and guidance that promotes research and development leading to the production of biobased fuels and products. The agenda is expected to include an update on USDA and DOE biomass research and development activities, along with presentations from national laboratories and federal agencies on their work on the Bioeconomy Initiative and on the opportunities and challenges for biobased plastics research and development.

According to the DOE, members of the public are welcome to observe the business of the Biomass Research and Development Technical Advisory Committee. Additional information is available on the Federal Register website.
