The Surface Transportation Board has announced its Rail Energy Transportation Advisory Committee will hold a meeting Nov. 14 in Paducah, Kentucky, at 8:00 a.m. CST. The meeting is open to the public.

RETEC provides advice and guidance to the STB and serves as a form for the discussion of emerging issues related to the transportation of energy resources by rail, including coal, ethanol and other biofuels.

The Nov. 14 meeting will continue discussions regarding issues such as rail performance, capacity constraints, infrastructure planning and development, and effective coordination among suppliers, carriers and users of energy resources. Potential agenda items include a performance measures review, industry segment updates by RETAC members, and a roundtable discussion.

According to the STB website, RETAC currently includes 25 voting members, including those representing CHS, Greenbrier Management Services, South Dakota Corn Growers Association, and Cargill.
