Central Carolina Community College in Pittsboro, N.C., received a $195,000 grant from the Biofuels Center of North Carolina in May. The funds will be used to purchase equipment for a biofuels production laboratory, which will be built in the college's Sustainable Technology Building later this year. Starting this fall, the college will offer an Associate in Applied Sciences degree in Alternative Fuels. Biofuels instructor Andrew McMahan was recently hired to develop a curriculum for the new program.
