By | June 02, 2008
In May, European companies Sd-Chemie AG and Linde Group agreed to jointly develop and market cellulosic ethanol production plants that would use feedstocks such as wheat straw, corn stover, grasses or wood. Sd-Chemie, one of the world's leading manufacturers of catalysts and adsorbents, will provide its knowledge of biocatalysis and bioprocess engineering, while Linde, a world-leading gases and engineering company, and its subsidiary Linde-KCA-Dresden will provide engineering expertise in the areas of biotechnology and chemistry. Together, they will assist potential customers in planning and constructing these plants worldwide.
