RFA elects 2009 officers

Chuck Woodside, chief executive officer of KAAPA Ethanol LLC, is the new secretary of the Renewable Fuels Association, taking over from Poet CEO Jeff Broin, who is stepping down from the RFA board. The rest of the officers slate for 2009 remains the same as in 2008 with Chris Standlee, Abengoa Bioenergy SA, serving as chairman; Tom Branhan, Glacial Lakes Energy LLC, serving as vice chairman; and, Nate Kimpel, New Energy Corp., serving as treasurer. Bob Dinneen continues as president of the association.

"The RFA is proud of the dedication and commitment of its members to assuring a vital American ethanol industry," Dinneen said. "The opportunity this industry has to lead America into a new era of greater energy, environment, and economic security is exciting. By working together through the auspices of the RFA, America's ethanol producers are taking their responsibilities seriously to be the cornerstone of America's energy future that this industry can and will be. These are challenging times for all industries, but by working together America's ethanol industry will emerge from the storm stronger and more vibrant than ever."

John Howe, Verenium Corp., is new to the board of directors, while representatives from Poet LLC, Front Range Energy LLC and LifeLine Foods stepped down from the board.
