United Ethanol gives back

United Ethanol, a 55 MMgy plant located in Milton, Wis., recently handed out its first-ever scholarships to two graduating Milton High School seniors. The plant also hosted a tour for Wisconsin's agricultural ambassador, Alice in Dairyland, and the six 2010 Alice in Dairyland finalists. "I believe the biggest benefit to building community goodwill is helping the Milton community realize that United Ethanol and its employees care about the Milton community and want to be a good neighbor," said David Cramer, president and CEO.

The $1,000 scholarships went to students Katherine "Marie" McNall and Ellen Check, who plan to study agricultural business. For the tour, Dan Shickles, assistant plant manager, guided the ladies, giving them information about ethanol history and current production statistics.
