A study recently released by Informa Economics Inc. reports that the ethanol industry is the single most important factor supporting the growth of the agricultural sector in Indiana. The study, which was sponsored by the Indiana Corn Marketing Council and Growth Energy, measured the ethanol industry's contribution to Indiana's gross state product (GSP), household incomes and employment rates. Results showed that ethanol has created more than 3,000 full-time jobs in Indiana, added $499 million to the GSP, and increased overall household income by $255 million.
