The U.S. exported 159.31 million gallons of ethanol and 1.06 million metric tons of distillers grains in March, according to data released by the USDA on May 2. Exports of both products were up when compared to both the previous month and March 2023.
Brazil’s 2024-’25 sugarcane harvest season kicked off on April 1. UNICA, the country’s sugarcane industry association, said sugarcane processing and ethanol production were both up during the first two-weeks of the harvest season.
The USDA recently released its Grain Crushings and Co-Products Production Report for March, reporting that corn use for fuel ethanol production in February was up when compared to both the previous month and February 2023.

A record volume of sugarcane was processed during Brazil’s recently completed 2023-’24 harvest season, according to UNICA, the Brazilian sugarcane industry association. Ethanol production also set a new record, with a significant boost from corn.
