Welcome to the FEW

It's time once again for the world's largest ethanol conference. Companies spend weeks preparing for this, a time to show off their products and services, and it's probably the only time that industry representatives take a break from their daily routine. That doesn't mean there isn't any work getting done though. Business deals will be made in all corners of the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center this week, and the wealth of information brought back home will be invaluable. That's what makes the FEW so great. It may be tough to find all the people you were looking for, but rarely does anyone return and wish they hadn't gone.
While at this 24th annual event, I will look forward to meeting with various companies I didn't know about, meeting the various people I have spoken with over the phone but never met, and generally learning more about the industry through the various breakout sessions. As a member of the media, there is no shortage of story ideas here! Our staff will be covering many aspects of the event, not to mention gathering various story ideas to cover in the months to come. I encourage everyone who has newsworthy and featureworthy information to get in touch with Features Editor Rona Johnson or myself. Furthermore, if a company wants to write its own feature-length story, just talk to Contributions Editor Dave Nilles. Likewise, our staff writers will be available if you have a story idea you want to bounce off of them. Remember, it's our job to give you the information you are looking for!
With that said, I hope everyone enjoys their stay in Nashville, has safe travels (i.e., no airlines fold while we're here) and makes some great business connections. See you at the show!

The Expo at FEW is certainly an amazing cross-section of industry. My days at the Expo discovered a lot of passion and creativity, as well as where temperature is a valued measurement in the process. As an RTD supplier I can say the place was HOT! Nice job BBI!
