The last expo shipping package has been taped up and the technical breakout sessions are over. I hope everyone found the 2008 International Fuel Ethanol Workshop & Expo to be a success!
Perhaps some of you will be touring Commonwealth Agri-Energy in Hopkinsville, Ky., today. The 33 MMgy corn-based plant came on line in 2004 and is managed by Mick Henderson. Although I won't be attending, some of our newer staff members will be. I know Commonwealth is a great facility. Contributions Editor Dave Nilles wrote a profile on them in our January 2007 issue (http://www.ethanolproducer.com/article.jsp?article_id=2616).
As I walked through the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center over the past few days, I marveled at all the meetings, business deals, products on displayed and, most importantly, the information being exchanged. At times, the breakout sessions made me feel like I was absorbing too much information at once, but hopefully I took enough notes to take home and disseminate in the office. I hope everyone experienced similar success.
Is it too soon to be looking ahead to next year's conference? It will be held in Denver, and I've heard through our conference division that booth sales are already going smoothly. If you haven't reserved one yet, your company might want to think about doing so! Colorado has a handful of ethanol plants and a state government that is excited about ethanol, so it should make for a great atmosphere. Hope to see everyone there!

This conference not only opened numerous doors for us but enabled our team to expose some of the plant owners, builders and technology providers to our concept of 'EngineeringProcurmentConstrumentManagement' for their control solutions.

The FEW conference was an excellent tool for our company, For Fuel Freedom, to meet the people that we had been talking on the phone to, and establish new relationships, as well as see other technologies presented. Now we have all the resources we need to propel our Organic Hydrolysis technology to be the Cellulosic Ethanol leader.
