NEC Opens in San Antonio
Posted: February 23, 2009 at 08:46 AM CST
It’s an important week for the fuel ethanol industry. The National Ethanol Conference opens today in San Antonio.
It’s not unusual for the week prior to large industry conference to see an increase in the amount of announcements from industry stakeholders. The ramp-up in news seems to provide some momentum to the conferences. The biggest news from this past week coincides nicely with the purpose of the NEC. The U.S. and Canadian Renewable Fuels Associations released a joint statement regarding President Barack Obama’s first meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Read the statement here: http://renewablefuelsassociation.cmail1.com/T/ViewEmail/y/CB46487C38FB8F74.
Expect more news this week as the industry’s leaders meet in San Antonio. I’m looking forward to seeing what RFA President Bob Dinneen has to say about the prospects of 2009.
Check back regularly at EthanolProducer.com as Staff Writer Susanne Retka Schill will be providing updates from San Antonio. You can also view what’s happening at http://www.ethanolrfa.org/ethanolreport/. An upcoming issue of EPM will feature insights drawn from the 14th annual event, which is the can’t-miss location for policy and marketing issues in the industry.
