What better way to&nbsp;Grow the Future&nbsp;than by meeting with those who are making change on the ground? America’s farmers.U.S. Grains Council (USGC) representatives did just that this past week at&nbsp;<a href="https://commodityclassic.com/">Commodity Classic</a>&nbsp;in Houston, where staff members and leadership highlighted Council programming being conducted to increase exports and build on the organization’s mission of developing markets, enabling trade and improving lives.The booth allowed Council staff to hand out educational materials highlighting the Council’s top markets, while also drawing in attendees to play a game of corn hole using the organization’s branded corn hole boards.Council staff participated in 12 interviews with trade press throughout the event, speaking about topics including overseas commodities trade, sustainability and grower perspectives from USGC board members while taking part in different missions targeted at finding homes for U.S. corn, sorghum, barley, ethanol and distiller’s dried grains with solubles (DDGS).Activities in the booth were tied directly to USGC Chairman Brent Boydston’s theme of&nbsp;Growing the Future, including giveaways featuring his theme’s logo.“It was great to be at Commodity Classic and hear directly from farmers about the impact trade has on them. They understand the importance of working in foreign markets and were excited to hear about the work the Council is doing to open new ones. Additionally, it was good to get directly in front of our partners at the National Sorghum Producers (NSP) and National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) to brief them on the work of the Council. Spring is always full of optimism with the planting of crops, and it was great to see the optimism of farmers at Commodity Classic,” Boydston said.Commodity Classic is America’s largest farmer-led, farmer-focused agricultural and educational experience.
